At the first race of the season at Snetterton, it was interesting to see the mix between the stalwarts and the fresh blood in Supersport and R300, actually quite a good mix between both delivering some brilliant races. Obviously having not raced since last year, our Supersport drivers took a little settling in at the qualification stage, but Chris Wright excelled himself by leaping from a P15 in quali. to a fantastic P6 in race 1, and then came in 9th in race 2. John Reid and David Briault also improved on their quali. times during both races.
Lee Wiggins in his Kermit green Superlight challenged hard all weekend with R300 rival Sean Byrne, and certainly didn’t step aside and take defeat graciously…he managed to gain a creditable P4 in both races, and will come back fighting stronger at Donington.
