And sure enough, Lee Wiggins succeeded after some excellent racing to come home with two third place podiums for the Stancombe Vehicle Engineering team. There were mixed fortunes for Chris Wright and David Briault, in fact Briault unfortunately sustained considerable damage and a DNF in the second race, but both guys will surely come back fighting fit for our European round at Zandvoort in June. Our other Supersport driver competing at Donington was American Tom Miserendino, taking part in his maiden race in the UK, so has taken on a great challenge. His family, including baby grandson, made the trip over the pond to see him race, and he didn’t disappoint, gaining places in both races, and coming home with a damage free car.
The next event for Stancombe Vehicle Engineering is with Lee Wiggins in an exclusive Superlight R300 race meeting on the renowned Silverstone GP circuit at the end of this month. It stands to be an exciting event, so watch this space!
