Zandvoort provided all the usual excitement of the Caterham European rounds, with great results from Lee Wiggins in the R300 Superlight, keeping a close eye on his competitors and maintaining his fourth position in the Championship, while the large grid of Supersports saw some thrills and spills that provided great entertainment for all those involved.
Castle Combe came up next, producing one of the best racing weekends in regards to weather we have had for a long time. It was brilliant to have two days of sunshine for a change, it felt more like the Euro round than Zandvoort did! The good weather brought out some truly fantastic racing! Caterhams are very well known for close racing with multiple position changes, not just per lap but multiple times during each lap and Castle Combe was the perfect host for this action to be released. We witnessed in each race three abreast heading over the Avon rise down into Quarry with a puff of dust thrown into the air as the right hand car is forced to use the edge of the track and beyond as they all disappeared around the corner. Every class provided pure entertainment for the bumper crowd that Castle Combe always delivers. This meeting only involved our Supersport team – the R300 Superlights will be at the next event on the renowned Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit on August 1st and 2nd. Way to go Lee!!
