We thought Castle Combe was hot, but Saturday at Brands Hatch was even hotter! Our super Supersports drivers did well to endure the high temperatures through qualifying and first race. Chris Wright was the quickest of our team in quali., achieving P12 on the grid, but due to a couple of racing incidents, he came 17th by the end of the race, with Dave Briault 19th, John Reid 21st and Tom Miserendino 25th. The second race on Sunday was quite a different story. Firstly, it started to rain just before the drivers were due to race. The race itself proved to be one of the most exciting this year, with numerous position changes, excursions into, and out of, gravel traps etc. – good, hard racing. All drivers gained places from their grid positions, and Dave Briault excelled himself by gaining no less than 10 positions and finishing 9th in Sunday’s race, a personal best result.
